Aid Through Art

Aid Through Art was founded in 2016 by Mychael Israel Torres with a vision of supporting individuals and families experiencing housing insecurity through creativity, community, and access to resources. She understood that housing instability often creates barriers to wellbeing, opportunity, and community, and she believed that every person deserves not only basic support, but also the chance to be seen, heard, and empowered.

Today, Aid Through Art advances youth wellbeing through creative expression, community engagement, direct support, and educational opportunity. We work to provide resources, encouragement, and meaningful connections for youth and young adults impacted by housing insecurity, foster care involvement, and other systemic challenges.

We believe art has the power to:

  • Foster healing

  • Build connection

  • Amplify marginalized voices

  • Inspire creativity

  • Create pathways for growth and opportunity

Through community partnerships, artistic programming, wellness events, leadership development experiences, and scholarship opportunities, Aid Through Art creates safe and affirming spaces where young people can access resources, build community, express themselves, and pursue brighter futures. Inspired by Mychael's vision, we remain committed to ensuring that those experiencing housing insecurity have opportunities not only to meet immediate needs, but also to thrive.
